The governing body is responsible for managing the school budget, devising school policy and appointing staff. It also monitors the condition of the school buildings and the implementation of the National Curriculum. This is achieved by sub-committees made up of members of the governing body with different areas of responsibility. Governors meet half-termly and also attend sub-committee meetings and go into the classroom to monitor and evaluate learning. Minutes of the governors meetings are available for inspection (unless they have been declared confidential) from the school office, as are copies of the governors policy documents. |
